Fuuma. Is. Not. A. Sadist.
Okay, now that we've got that out of the way, Fuuma is a loving brother and dedicated friend. Unfortunately, his destiny happens to be to destroy the world to bring about change to Earth. Fuuma is Kamui's twin star. Once Kamui chose to become a Ten no Ryuu (Dragon of Heaven), it was Fuuma's destiny to become a Chi no Ryuu (Dragon of Earth). This pits him against Kamui, the one whom he promised to protect no matter what, in a battle that will decide the fate of the Earth.
Fuuma owns a third of my soul. I think he's much more interesting and complex in the X manga. In the TV series, Fuuma appears to be a "bad guy" and a sadist. He's not a sadist! (It only appears that way because Kamui's an angsty masochist, not that I mind.) Fuuma only does things in order to fulfill his destiny. It's not that he enjoys wreaking havoc, which seems to be what the anime portrays. Only in the manga will you see Fuuma's true personality. He's got feelings and is able to express sadness. If you can read volume 18 of the manga and still tell me that he's a sadist....... then there's something wrong with you. .^^; It was after reading the manga, which is still incomplete (!@#$%^&*), that made me truly fall in love with Fuuma. You can't fully appreciate his greatness until you've read it. Not only that but his clothes in the manga are awesome! You never get to see Fuuma dawn his uber-cool sunglasses in the anime. It's a pity he only wears his trench coat as a Chi no Ryuu in the series.
Fuuma is a very complex character. The kanji for his name, "fuu" as in fuuin and "ma" as in makoto, means "true seal." He is not a sadist like the anime makes him out to be, which is pretty much the only thing I didn't like about it. His voice...? Oh my, his voice. .*_____* After Fuuma becomes a Chi no Ryuu, the tone of his voice becomes drops even deeper and is very seductive. Mrawr~ .*_* There is oh-so-much luv. Fuuma is my favorite anime character. Period.
